Business issue: This business wanted to respond to an RFP sent out by a large airport for a small retail location. The business delayed responding to the RFP because it was waiting to hear back from a Joint Venture (JV) partner. When the JV partnership fell through, the business had only six days to pull the RFP together to respond as a single entity.
HONI Group solution: We obtained a copy of the RFP and interviewed the business for six hours going through each item on the RFP. The RFP included a 90-second promo video submission. By day’s end HONI Group sketched out a detailed plan along with the items needed from the business and the project costs.
While writing the RFP responses, HONI Group hired a proposal designer and voice over for the video. We also purchased video stock footage to cut down on the promo video production time. The RFP responses were completed in four days and sent to business for review, the designer for design, and the copywriter for proofing.
The HONI Group received approval for the promo video script and sent the voice over, stock footage, business owner footage, and script to the video editor for production. The final draft was ready within four days.
On day five, the designed RFP and promo video were ready for final review. The business client did a review, final changes were made, and the RFP and promo video were uploaded on the due date, two hours before the deadline.
Result: The proposed RFP came in second place. However, it caught the attention of a prime concessionaire who offered the business a 10% JV in a $35 million annual concession. The business accepted the joint venture.
Business issue: The business operated three companies and the bookkeeper quit. It was discovered that the bookkeeper had not been keeping up with the accounting and the business did not know its financial position which had to be reported to the bonding company to renew the business bond.
HONI Group solution: HONI Group asked the business accounting questions about QuickBooks: daily sales and deposits, bank statements, credit card statements, checks written each month, latest financial reports, etc. Once we determined the accounting condition and what was required to bring the books up to date and produce current financials, we set out a detailed plan along with the project costs.
To update the QuickBooks accounting faster, we used Excel to group daily sales and other activity for a single monthly entry. Using Excel cut production time and costs by 70%, while maintaining accuracy and backup documentation.
Result: Able to process 2.7 years of accounting (11 months for 3 companies) in QuickBooks in under five days. The company was able to submit all financials and continue its bond.
Business issue: The business needed an explainer video to describe a new product.
HONI Group solution: HONI Group asked the business about the new product and conducted additional research to get additional data about similar products and competing products. The HONI Group then set out a detail plan for the video along with the total project costs.
HONI Group created the video script and used the final script to run an Explainer Video contest on Freelancer.com. HONI Group selected the top three videos and allowed the business to make the final decision. HONI Group then uploaded the video to YouTube and embedded it on the business website and landing page.
Result: Created a YouTube ad campaign which generated over 10,000 video views which created traffic, leads, and sales through the business site and landing page.
